Marty Behr

marty-behrMarty Behr is a “city-boy” who discovered the California wilderness in his twenties while at Stanford Business School and determined to make a career that blended business and backcountry. After Stanford, management consulting led Marty to Alaska…and to a life-changing experience… recreating the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush by traversing the full 800 mile length of Klondike National Park from Seattle to Dawson City by boat, on foot and by canoe.  There was no turning back and shortly thereafter, Marty began the first of four successful nature-oriented travel companies in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Two of those companies – American Safari Cruises and Alaska Unusual (now Entrée Alaska) were Virtuoso partners from their inception.

Marty founded National Parks Revealed in 2010, traveling for more than a year in the National Parks re-discovering their grandeur and diversity and learning that the number of visitors to the Parks was declining and aging as younger people choose Nano iPods over the natural world.  Marty founded National Parks Revealed to help reverse that trend by providing exceptional National Parks travel experiences to travelers of all ages.

Mark Campbell

From his first backpack trip in King’s Canyon National Park many years ago to exploring many other national parks with his wife and two boys, Mark is deeply passionate about the transformative power of experiencing nature, culture and wildlife…both at home and abroad.  In his pursuit of creating, marketing and sharing active/experiential travel & hospitality, he has held senior management positions with Mountain Travel Sobek, Virtuoso, TCS Private Jet Expeditions, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. From 2009-2011 he ran his own marketing and branding consultancy, Cascadia Marketing working with tour operators and non-profit organizations to help them them discover and embrace their unique brand story to create indestructible bonds with their customers and employees.

Mark met Marty at the beginning of his travel career. Having immediately clicked, it seemed only right that they would eventually join forces. Mark is now National Parks Revealed’s Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Having had the good fortune to travel to dozens of countries, Mark is now dedicated to delivering a new standard of travel to our national parks which writer and historian Wallace Stegner has described as “America’s best idea”.

From his home in Seattle, Mark along with his wife, two boys and their Bernese Mountain Dog love sharing the bounty of the Pacific Northwest with friends and family.

Melissa Ladvala

Growing up in the mountains of Montana just outside Yellowstone National Park, Melissa’s love of the outdoors and National Parks was innate. As a child, summers were spent hiking, camping and exploring while winters were spent on skis.  Melissa earned her B.A. at the University of Montana.  While studying in Missoula, she was accepted into the Walt Disney World College Program in Orlando.  This experience opened up the exciting world of travel and tourism and the possibility of making it a career.  After graduation, Melissa spent several years working in the ski industry doing sales, marketing  and events. Over the years it was truly her love of camping and road trips that furthered her love of the National Park system; many vacations were spent road tripping with friends and almost always ending up in a National Park.  Working at National Parks Reveled is a perfect fit combining a love of travel, National Parks and sharing those passions with other travelers.

Libby Severance

Specializing in the “love of travel,” Libby Severance is an industry veteran with more than 19 years of experience. Fusing her passion for travel with her knowledge of sales, marketing and product training, at national Parks Revealed Libby  is responsible for product development and trip operations ensuring that each client experience is exceptional and tells the story of the destination.

Before coming to National Parks Revealed, Libby worked for companies such as American Airlines, Lindblad Expeditions, and Virtuoso (a luxury travel consortia).

She also has her own company, Inspire Destination Marketing. During her tenure at Virtuoso, Libby was Director of Training Services that allowed her to work closely with travel suppliers, agency management and frontline agents to increase sales for everyone involved. Her insatiable appetite for travel began at a very young age and she has been fortunate enough to cultivate a career in the travel industry – spanning adventure to luxury – sharing the “story” from each experience.

Having traveled to almost 70 countries, Libby counts among her most memorable travel experiences: an elephant ride by torch light in India, watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia, ballooning over Cappadochia in Turkey seeing the “fairy chimneys” from a birds-eye view and flight seeing in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon – but none that match watching her son take his first “official” steps in the Four Seasons overlooking the Sydney Opera House.

As part of the National Parks Revealed team, Libby looks forward to creating those experiences you and your clients will be talking about for years to come.
